At the grand age of 49 for Alex……. with Maureen a little bit younger…

They started dancing as an interest they could do as a couple, Maureen was already a keen line-dancer and Alex enjoyed the live bands but would not dance.

So arriving home one Friday night Alex was told get your skates on, dance class starts in an hour….that was Feb 2006.  

After the first 6/7 lessons Alex was hooked even to the point that when Maureen had a “girlie” night he would  still go to classes un-accompanied.    Also the social scene with week-enders living rock n roll…. they both have quite a wardrobe of clothing and shoes, But at this time no pink Cadillac  !!!

They are both asked to help with new and intermediate classes and to be involved with outside demo`s

IDTA Rock and Roll exams  -July 2006 Bronze Pass with honours  -July 2006 Silver   Pass with Honours

Feb 2007 Gold     Pass with Honours - Guilford festival 2000 5th place overs 25`s

Feb 2008  1st  Gold Bar   Pass with Honours

IDTA Southeast England finalist Blackpool qualifier 36 to 49 years placed 9th

Feb 2009  2nd Gold Bar   Pass with Honours - IDTA Southeast England finalist Blackpool qualifier

IDTA gold and over, all age groups   4th place    -  IDTA national championship over 50`s 1st place

Feb 2010  3rd  Gold Bar   Pass with Honours- IDTA Southeast England finalist Blackpool qualifier

IDTA gold and over, all age groups   6th place   -  IDTA National championship over 50`s 1st place

Feb 2011  1st Star  Pass with Honours  - IDTA Southeast England finalist Blackpool qualifier

IDTA gold and over, all age groups   6th place     -    IDTA national championship over 50`s 2nd place

ONLY ….. 16 more to go meaning Alex will be 71 when he finishes all the exams!!!!!
